Cornell Flaunts NYC Tech Campus Strategy

Cornell University Staff and students gathered Friday afternoon for a special on-campus forum regarding the New York City Tech Campus set for Roosevelt Island.

Cornell beat out a number of other schools in their proposal to build a high-tech campus partnered with Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Provost Kent Fuchs says since winning the competition, the buzz around New York City is that other institutions hope to get involved and is confident they’ll see a greater capacity in education in the city from the other existing schools just from Cornell’s presence.

Fuchs says in the seven weeks of the New York City announcement that Cornell was the victor, over 30 start-up companies came to Cornell to hear more about the campus and students as part of a student-run career fair.
